OK - I know, I never post here! This is new to me, and I have to get myself into the routine of posting here regularly. So, my new goal is to post once a week. I think I can handle that :[

A Day of Amusement

On Sunday we took a trip up to Woodbury, my hometown, to visit my mom, who is recovering from shoulder replacement surgery after she shattered the bones in a fall, and after lunch spent a few hours at Quassy Amusement Park in Middlebury. It was Oktoberfest weekend, so it was quite busy. They also had free ride-all-day bracelets for Middlebury residents, and MyConnecticutKids.com had a coupon for a free bracelet too. The first ride we went on was the carousel, which made my weakling hubby a bit woozy! Then my daughter Sammi and I went on the Frog Hopper, which is a kiddie version of the freefall rides. She loved it! Next was the Trabant, and after watching it once, she really wanted to go on. I didn't think it was too fast for her. As soon as we started moving, she giggled non-stop! We went on a second time later, and they switched operators just when we were getting on. The new kid stopped us short just after reversing the rotation, and my daughter was soooo mad! We also went on the Music Fest, which is much faster. She didn't like it much (made me a bit woozy too!) and after we got off she said "I never, never, ever want to go on that ride again. OK?"

A wonderful day on August 21 at the Riverhouse at Goodspeed Station, Haddam, CT. We snuck away during cocktail hour to capture some great portraits with the Goodspeed Opera House in the backdrop, then made a quick stop at Goodspeed Station for the train tracks. Eight is Enough!

I recently photographed a friend's family of eight dogs - thanks to Photoshop! I didn't even dare try to get them all in one shot. They were photographed individually and composited together into a wide pano. Because I have individual images, it gives me lots of flexibility in creating collages, and the images size is larger than if I had cropped them out of a large group.

Because they all behaved so well, mom let them all ride home in the front seat! I wish I had a shot of her in the driver's seat, but there was too much glare on the windshield. The owner works part time at a vet office, and these are all rescue dogs she adopted.

Another Baby Tooth Gone!

I picked my daughter up at Summer Rec today, and her counselor said she pulled her tooth out! She's been bugging me for the last week to try to pull it out, and it was getting looser and looser, but just wouldn't budge. She said "it was really wiggly" and she just grabbed it and pulled. She said it didn't hurt!

Sarah and Jason

I was honored to capture the joining of Sarah and Jason as husband and wife at the Congregational Church of Salem this past Saturday, June 26. After a brief ceremony the bride and groom posed with grandpa's classic ride for some great portraits. Although the weather was quite hot and humid, it was a joyous occasion for all. I look forward to capturing Sarah's mom and fiance at their wedding in September!

Heather and Nick were married in a beautiful outdoor ceremony in Westerly, RI. The day's events were held at the Woody Hill Bed and Breakfast. The beautiful landscaping was a great backdrop for formal portraits. The reception was held under a large tent in a nearby field with a delicious barbecue dinner.

Lost Her First Tooth!

My daughter Sammi lost her first tooth last night! She is so proud to tell everyone that she is growing up! The Tooth Fairy brought her four quarters. She was really hoping for some candy though :(
